With a background in strategic planning, technical communications, policy advising, and program management, she has a proven track record of translating complex scientific and technical information into actionable insights for stakeholders at both the local and national levels. As a leader in the fields of climate change, health, and life sciences, Janine is recognized for her ability to navigate the forefront of discovery, consistently finding and implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges. Her approach is grounded in openness, flexibility, and a commitment to listening and perseverance. Janine’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her co-founding of Coherent Knowledge, an AI software company that successfully transformed a research system into a commercial tool for automating decision-making across various sectors, including defense intelligence, financial regulatory compliance, and healthcare. Her role encompassed strategic guidance, business development, marketing, and program management, as well as overseeing partner relations and HR processes. Previously, as a senior scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund, Janine played a pivotal role in raising awareness about climate change at a critical time. Her work on climate change impacts and forest carbon sequestration was instrumental in influencing national policy and educating diverse audiences, including Congress and the White House.
